Working in the medical profession at times may lead to fatigue and exhaustion, better termed as 'burn out'. This hand book would be of utmost usefulness not only for palliative care physicians but also for nurse practitioners and paramedics associated with palliative care. It is also a handy book for trainees for their clinical practice and examination preparation. This book provides up-to-date information with practical tips to health care professionals. It also provides rapid access for daily reference for bedside clinical and administrative management. The book would be more user friendly if the various concepts may be elaborated with examples. Also the addition of cases and case discussions would further improve the book.

Overall, the book is well written and provides a very lucid, comprehensive and evidence based exposition of hospice and palliative care management. This book will be important academic armamentarium for physicians, nurses and paramedics involved in hospice and palliative care.
